In Theatre
THIS YEAR THE THEATRE
DEPARTMENT put on two large
musical productions for the PTS
community. The first production,
I Love You, You're Perfect, Now
Change, took place in October
at Pinecrest Gardens. The show
explored love and relationships
through short vignettes into
the lives of characters trying to
navigate dating and marriage. The
show was a huge hit with laughs
roaring through the audience.
The second large production of
the year was Hairspray Jr. at the
South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts
Center. This musical was special
because the cast was comprised
of students from all grade levels
as well as faculty and staff.
Hairspray takes a look into 1960's
segregation through the eyes of
several teenagers and their love for
dancing. The show was exciting,
funny, and heart-warming all
at once.
