In light of some of the tragic events that took place in our country during 2020, a passionate group of PTS Alumni—led by Shaina Louis-Jean '13, Farida Amer '13, Tiago Rachelson '17 and Priscilla Carlo '16—came together to form the Inclusion and Equity Committee (IEC). The IEC is an Alumni advisory committee created to assist Palmer Trinity School in promoting justice and equality for all members of the school community. During the 2020-2021 academic school year, the committee worked with the administration, faculty and students to facilitate informed conversations about diversity and inclusion. Prior to the 2020 presidential election, the committee produced a video that encouraged students to use their voice and be politically active. They also collaborated with PTS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Coordinators and student Mosaic Facilitators to organize meaningful lessons and activities for our students. The Inclusion and Equity Committee may be new to Palmer Trinity School, but we know their impact will last for years to come.
