Graduation 2021
A F TER A Y E A R OF U NCERTA INT Y,
school closures, and virtual events,
May 15
th
looked like the start of a
new chapter. The Class of 2021
graduated—together, this year—
surrounded by their families, teachers,
and classmates on a bright Saturday
morning on Brockway Field. As our
seniors recalled the challenges of the
past 15 months, they also celebrated
all that they overcame in their last year
of high school.
During the ceremony, the students took
a special moment to remember their
late classmate, Oliver Strong '21, who
tragically passed away during their
time in middle school at Palmer Trinity
School. They dedicated their senior gift
to Oliver. As Maia Wenger '21 said:
"Oliver Strong will forever be a beloved
member of our class and, for this
reason, the Student Government
Association (SGA) has decided to
place a bench in Oliver's memory in the
new plaza outside of the chapel. The
inscription on the bench reads:
IN LOV ING MEMORY OF
OU R CL AS S M ATE
Oliver Strong
from the Class of 2021
#ForeverSTRONG
Our class' engraved bricks will be
placed close to the bench, symbolizing
our own angel watching over us."
Contrary to our slogan, this has
been a godo ride but it is not
our last ride. Together, our class
has overcome hardship against
all odds, especially with Covid.
I'm beyond confident our class
can conquer life's obstacles."

When I look back on our
"family" history, I see a story
of challenge and change. We
saw difficulty after difficulty
come our way and we adapted
to get through the hard
times. Along our journey, we
overcame adversity by relying
on the kind hearted people
around us. We weathered a
global pandemic together."
