C R E A T I N G A S P A C E F O R R E M E M B R A N C E Invited by Chaplain Mary Ellen Cassini, PTS parents created an elaborate Dia de los Muertos ("Day of the Dead") altar in Trinity Chapel. At a convocation, the school welcomed a representative from the Mexican consulate who shared about the roots of the tradition. Members of the community were welcome to place photos of their deceased loved ones alongside ofrendas ("offerings") such as flowers and bread. Thank you to the parents of PTS' Mexican community for organizing the speakers, presentations and altars. F A L C O N B E A T S The Electronic Music Design class now has music on YouTube @PTSfalconbeats. This upper school music course teaches composition and production through song structure, rhythm and harmony by analyzing and composing in a variety of electronic music styles. Students gained an understanding of the many aspects of contemporary electronic music including beats, harmony, bass lines, groove, melodies, automation, editing, and sound design. Students—many of whom did not previously have musical training before enrolling in the course—created and produced music using FL Studio, a digital audio workstation (DAW) and software program.
