EMIL I A NO MEDIN A ' 2 7 added, "My
favorite memory of the Kenya
trip was meeting the community
members who guided and
worked with us. They were all
very kind and I will carry them in
my heart. Especially John!"
The Maasai certainly left an
impression on our group and we
hope that we were able to leave
a small gift in return. Our Palmer
Trinity community raised nearly
ten thousand dollars that went to
help the children of the Golden
Naboisho School. We planted
trees that we hope will grow with
our friendships, gifted learning
supplies to classrooms that only
had one book for 30-40 students,
and most importantly, installed
water cisterns so the children
could have access to clean water.
V IC T OR I A ENR IQUE Z ' 2 7 shared that
her "favorite part of the trip was
definitely the kids. They were all so
happy to see us and I had a lot of
fun reading and playing with them."
It was heartbreaking to see the
facilities the children had to endure
in order to learn, but their smiles and
love of reading was inspirational.
"For me the best part was seeing
the kids in the school for the first
time. As we were coming into
the school and seeing their faces
when they saw us made me super
happy, " added M AT I A S L A R A ' 2 7.
We are thankful for the experience
that our Roundsquare collaboration
travel to Kenya afforded us. The
wildlife was amazing, but it is the
people and their willingness to
share their way of life with us that
has made a lasting impact.
The Maasai selflessly shared their love of the landscape and the
wildlife with us, and in doing so, they shared much more."
