Our tradition of Gratitude Week at Palmer Trinity
School began in November 2021. Each year the
faculty and staff take a week to pause and reflect
upon our blessings. Colleagues at Palmer Trinity
School have a deep appreciation for one another,
and Gratitude Week encourages members of the
faculty and staff to take time to express mutual
appreciation. The field of education demands a
lot, and yet, colleagues describe PTS as a warm,
supportive place to work.
Gratitude Week provides faculty and staff members the
opportunity to recognize one another's professionalism
and contributions to our exceptional community. The week
begins with three days of note writing. We dedicate Monday
to "Celebrating Those Beside You" such as a fellow member
of our department or someone with whom we share an
office. On Tuesday we celebrate those "Behind the Scenes"
including members of Coastal Building Maintenance,
Sentinel Security, and SAGE Dining. Wednesday, we
recognize "Those Beyond", such as a leader on campus. We
have found that the act of note writing builds camaraderie
and reminds us that PTS is such a wonderful place to serve.
Each year, Mr. Roberts provides treats for us throughout
the week. As well, he hosts a Gratitude Gathering, a time
for delightful food and good fellowship. At this gathering
a few colleagues volunteer to share Stories of Gratitude
about how being a part of this community has positively
impacted their lives. Our communication team compiles a
lovely video using photo submissions from faculty and staff
members. Some photos feature faculty and staff members
enjoying moments together on and off campus. While
other photos capture our beautiful, supportive family and
friends for whom we are grateful. The Gratitude Gathering
is a wonderful event that brings everyone together and
showcases our collegiality; the event truly distinguishes
our community.
