9 F A L L / W I N T E R 2 0 1 6 BI R D'S EY E V I EW TRACI METZLER MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE Ms. Metzler was born and raised in Wyoming, very close to Yellowstone Park. She has seventeen years of teaching experience under her belt. Over the past six years she has been an international science teacher, holding positions in Saudi Arabia, Guatemala, and most recently Dubai. Ms. Metzler holds a Bachelor of Science in Education. In addition to her passion for world travel, she also loves coffee and even owns a coffee kiosk in Wyoming. GREG NGUYEN UPPER SCHOOL SCIENCE Mr. Nguyen was born in Vietnam but raised in Miami. He has been teaching for fifteen years, both in public and independent schools. Prior to coming to Palmer Trinity, he worked at Ransom Everglades. Mr. Nguyen earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley before returning to Miami to earn a law degree from the University of Miami. KRISTINE RODRIGUEZ UPPER AND MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCE Mrs. Rodriguez was born and raised in Miami. She attended the University of Miami, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and eater Arts. She has eighteen years of experience in education, including five years in preschool and three years teaching kindergarten. In addition to teaching dance here at PTS, she is also a tutor for the Children's Trust and runs a dance program in Miami Beach. Her passion for dancing began very early as a result of wearing leg braces as a toddler. In light of this experience she takes every challenge as a blessing in disguise. K ATIE SPARKES MIDDLE SCHOOL ENGLISH Ms. Sparkes has just moved to Miami from Philadelphia. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Masters of Education in Middle Childhood Education. For the past seven years, she has taught various subjects to middle school students at KIPP charter schools in the South Bronx and North Philadelphia. She has a special passion for educational equity. Her personal interests include living an active lifestyle and cooking. MICHAEL STODDARD UPPER AND MIDDLE SCHOOL THEATRE Mr. Stoddard's background is in musical theatre. He holds a Masters in eatre Education. Over the past 8 years he has been working at an all girl's private school in Milwaukee and created Community eatre Works - one of the largest education theaters in Wisconsin. He is still an active performer, and his most recent role was Lord Farquaad in Shrek. He is also an avid runner and participates in half marathons. ASHLEY VALENTIN COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR Ms. Valentin is a communications professional with a background in marketing. She's worked doing content writing, social media marketing, email marketing, and design. Before coming to PTS, she was Marketing Manager for an online antiques business. She graduated from Florida International University with a degree in public relations and a minor in social media marketing. She is passionate about writing, food, and her dog Prince.
