What a year it's been for our Falcon
golfers! After a hardworking season,
we were ecstatic to have Cameron
Piedra '20 and our entire Varsity Girls
Golf team qualify and participate in
the 2019 Florida High School Athletic
Association (FHSAA) Golf State
Championships. The championship
tournament took place at the
beautiful Mission Inn Golf Resort,
in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida, and
our students competed at the Class
1A level, which is traditionally the
strongest competition bracket at the
state level.
The team was able to play three
rounds, one "practice" round and two
"competitive" rounds, on the difficult
Las Colinas golf course. The Girls
Team won Districts for the first time
in PTS history and placed 15
th
overall
at States. Remi Bacardi '25 was our
top Girls Team finisher with 33
rd
place
proving that Palmer Trinity students
are a force to be reckoned with.
Throughout the tournament, Cameron
Piedra solidified his rank as one of
the best golfers in Palmer Trinity
School history. Finishing his final
State Tournament with a strong
score of 148, Cameron will continue
his golf career at Duke University
this fall. Speaking for both Coach
Andrew and myself, Cameron has
been an absolute delight to coach
and know for the past five years, and
we know his Duke teammates and
fellow classmates will welcome his
sportsmanship, his positive attitude,
and of course, his talent.
Congratulations Golfers!
