While I was back home this summer, I volunteered and worked one-on-one with a therapist at Progressive Therapy. With the extra time, I began a blog on Instagram, @EatRightLiveTight, to convey to others that one of the most important things we can do in life is to eat healthy, stay active, and live a balanced lifestyle. All the food is made by me, and the photos are taken by me. My goal is to encourage those around me to become better individuals by living healthier lives." ISA RUIZ writes, "Studying in a country I had never been to before during my very first semester of college was a little nerve racking at first but, I can honestly say it was the best thing I've ever done. Not only did I become familiar with the way of life in Rome, but I was also exposed to several different cultures (along with amazing food) as I traveled around Europe on the weekends. From attending Oktoberfest in Germany to skydiving in Switzerland, it was truly one of the most amazing, happiest experiences I've ever had. This summer I got the chance to intern at my "dream job" at Universal Music Group. I learned so much about the in-and-outs of the music business and even got to work for a fellow PTS alum. VALERIE MACAULAY writes, "I am entering my second year at the University of Miami where I am majoring in Economics and Finance and minoring in Political Science. Over the summer, I was able to intern at Dress for Success. I wrote their summer newsletter and worked with Adobe Illustrator to create promotional postcards and invitations for DFS events and track national social media campaigns." This past year she participated in raising over $99,000 for St Jude Children's Research Hospital with Tri Delta at the University of Florida. She recently interned with her dad JOHN MALLOY '85 at his law firm Malloy & Malloy in Miami. MAIA SUAZO-MALER has had great success with her blog, www.modandbean. com. She and her blog partner scored tickets to this year's New York Fashion Week! On an academic front, she was approved at Harvard for a joint concentration in computer science and art history. She had to petition the departments to get the approval. Faculty and Former Faculty News TIM CASSEL writes, "I completed an intensive one year Masters program in Private School Leadership at Columbia University. It was a cohort-based program for experienced educators offering a diverse set of courses from the law school, business school, and teachers colleges. I was fortunate to stay in contact with two of my former students, SEBASTIAN ESPINOSA '15 and DANIEL OMACHANU '12, throughout my time in NYC. Serendipitously Daniel and I were able to take a picture immediately before the 2016 commencement ceremony. After graduation, I immediately flew back to Miami and assumed my new position as Director of Teaching, Learning, and Educational Programs at Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart. The position includes overseeing curriculum, professional development, educational partnerships, hiring, teacher evaluation, fundraising, and more." ALEX BELLANTON writes, "After I left PTS I headed to San Diego to figure out the next steps in my career. After one year in San Diego, I returned to Miami and started a tutoring service. Then I returned to business school at the University of Miami where I earned my MBA. Shortly after earning my MBA, I married Heather Mosure. I then started a new career as a Private Wealth Advisor at Goldman Sachs in their Miami office. I continue to be a supporter of PTS as an educational institution."
